December 4, 2019

The adopt-a-family program, run through the Jane and Finch Community Centre, focuses on helping families in need enjoy a special holiday season. This year York International, in collaboration with the York Athletics and Recreation administration has adopted their own family for the first time. The York International family is a family of 5 that is new to Canada; a single mum with two girls and twin boys. We ask the global community to join us in providing support to this family as they spend their first holiday season in Canada. Some of their wishes include kitchen supplies, warm blankets, winter clothing, back packs, makeup, and a family computer to help them study at home.

How to contribute: drop by the York International office at 200 York Lanes with either money or a gift card to Walmart. Tax receipts are available upon request; if you would like a tax receipt, please leave your name and contact information with the front desk staff.

No matter what you celebrate during this season (Christmas, Hanukah, Winter Solstice, etc), we hope that you’ll consider giving what you can to our ‘Adopt a Family’ family to make their Holiday great!
