Applications for students applying to the following departments are sent to the department head/coordinator for approval before being forwarded to the Admissions office:
Applications for students applying to all Faculties are sent to the Admissions office. Note: These departments may require further information before approving the student’s admission. They may also place conditions on the admission of the applicants. In rare cases, they may refuse to approve the applicant to take courses within the department. In each of these cases, York International will work directly with the home institution to find the best alternatives. Admission packages are sent directly to students by mid-June. However, this may vary for students whose applications require departmental approval. |
All graduate exchange applications are approved by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and the relevant academic department. The department may require further information before approving the student’s admission. They may also place conditions on the admission of the applicants. In rare cases, they may refuse to approve the applicant to take courses within the department. In each of these cases, York International will work directly with the home institution to find the best alternatives.
Once approved, the admission packages are sent to the student.

After Being Selected
York International corresponds with the student directly via e-mail in regards to course enrollment and housing.
Transcripts
At the end of a student’s exchange period, York International will send the original transcripts to the partner institution. Students are required to make their own arrangements if they would like a copy of the transcript. Student’s transcripts cannot be issued if a student owes fees to York.
York University transcripts show final official grades for courses taken. This grade is a letter grade. If the home institution requires students to have number grades and break downs of course work, they must make sure their students are aware and that they get their professors to fill in the Course Evaluation Form for each course. It is the student's responsibility to make sure that their professors fill in these forms.
