Funded by the Government of Canada's Global Skills Opportunity Fund, the Go Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Action Student Challenge aims to empower York University students and their peers around the world to take action towards the achievement of SDGs with a global lens. Through facilitated discussions, workshops, and immersive abroad opportunities, York students and their peers around the world have been honing their global competencies, leadership, digital fluency, and project management skills to take action on SDGs.
The Go Global SGDs Pilot run from January to March, 2022, where 54 students worked with mentors on projects related to SDGs 4 (Quality Education) 5 (Gender Equality), 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), 13 (Climate Action) & 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

6 SDG Knowledge Building, Project Management, Working in Teams and Community-based Action workshops were held between January and February, 2022, and students finalized their project proposals in March.
On March 28, 108 participants from 19 countries, ??? post-secondary educational institutions, ?? NGOs took part of a Knowledge Fair where student groups presented their projects.
