Have you ever considered volunteering or working in the non-profit or international development field? HerStart International Fellowships are 3-month dynamic opportunities for Canadians (citizens and permanent residents) to share their skill sets and gain professional hands-on global experience with YCI, an international NGO, and leading partner organizations around the world. Fellows will develop their knowledge and networks while actively contributing to HerStart – a YCI program providing 10,000 young women in Tanzania, Uganda, and Ghana with the training, tools and funding opportunities to become social entrepreneurs and positively impact their livelihoods and communities. International Fellows receive a holistic benefits package including pre-departure training, end-of-placement support, round-trip airfare, visas, health insurance, a monthly living stipend and much more. Placements start in January, May and September of each year for roles that focus on Gender Equality, Climate Action, Monitoring & Evaluation, Communications, Partnerships, and more.
This info session will not only provide information on the HerStart program and the International Fellowship opportunity, but will also offer advice and insights on how to navigate your career path and apply for positions as a young professional in the international development and non-profit sectors. The presentation will be 30-40 minutes, followed by a Q&A period.
