CIFAL York is part of UNITAR's global network of training centres across Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe, the Americas and the Caribbean, for knowledge-sharing, training, and capacity-building for public and private leaders, local authorities, and civil society. CIFAL Centres are local and regional hubs for innovative, participatory and co-creative knowledge exchange opportunities to support decision-making processes, build capacity, and accelerate the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals. Format: virtual event on HopIn  Held shortly before the Glasgow Climate Conference COP26, this knowledge-exchange dialogue will bring researchers and practitioners together for an in-depth discussion on joint action for climate and biodiversity, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.   The purpose is to lay the foundations for concrete recommendations to strengthen stakeholder engagement at scale for integrated action for climate, nature, and people.

 

CIFAL York and partners invite you to the Closing Webinar of the Pre-COP26 Knowledge-Exchange Dialogue: Multi-Level Joint Action For Climate, Nature And People - Bridging Knowledge, Policy And Practice on October 21st at 11:00am ET (Toronto).

Held shortly before the UN Climate Conference (COP26, Glasgow), this 2-day knowledge-exchange dialogue will bring researchers and practitioners together for an in-depth discussion on joint action for climate and biodiversity, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and with a purpose to build the foundations for co-created and concrete recommendations and to strengthen stakeholder engagement for integrated action for climate, nature, and people.

Workshop topics include:

  • Lessons from the IPBES-IPCC Joint Workshop Report
  • Land, forest, and freshwater
  • Ocean and costal zones
  • Indigenous peoples, local communities, nature stewardship
  • Cities, nature, and health
  • Food systems, water management and agriculture

Participation to the workshops are by invitation, however, the Closing Plenary will be a webinar open to the public on October 21st at 11:00am ET (Toronto). The closing webinar will share insights from the workshop discussions, future outlook, setting goals and noting the upcoming COP26.
