Who can participate?
All students involved in mobility programs are eligible to participate, including:
- International students studying at York University
- Inbound and outbound exchange students participating in any one of York International’s mobility programs (e.g. international exchange, internships, summer abroad programs)
- Students who are also travelling in Canada and/or abroad for personal reasons (tourism, work, family visits …etc.)
What do I need to do?
- Be curious
- Attend a Sustainable on the Go orientation initiation workshop prior to your travels. The registration form is now available.
- Become part of our #YUSustainableontheGo social media network.
- Have a safe trip to your destination
- Keep us posted on how you are translating what you learned into your daily practices before, during and after your mobility program
- Contribute at least 4 social media posts to initiate discussions with other YU students around the world
- Contribute at least 20 social media posts responding to prompts from your colleagues
- Participate in an activity in the host city/country

- Volunteer and/or be active in a student club at the host institution and/or a non-profit organization in the host country (minimum of 20 hours)
- Learn more about your host country: successful sustainability initiatives, sustainability challenges; efforts meeting the UN SDG’s …etc.
- Participate in an awareness campaign on issues pertaining to sustainability in the host country
- Prepare and submit your culminating activity:
- prepare a 3-5-minute video;
- write a blog post (1000 words);
- prepare a presentation (using Power Point, Prezi…etc); or
- create a poster

- Attend a Sustainable on the Go debriefing workshop upon return to share your experiences with your colleagues. The registration form is now available.

- Maintain/enhance your sustainable lifestyle, continue learning, and keep your engagement with your local and global communities
