Fudan University, Shanghai

In the summer of 2015, I took Chinese 2030 which was taught at York University as well as at Fudan University in Shanghai. It was a life-changing experience. I discovered a new place and made lifelong friendships. The course gave me a real taste of China, allowed me to study in another culture and see one of the top universities in China. I took Chinese 2030 because I've been learning Mandarin for seven years, and has been my dream to visit China – I could not pass on the opportunity to be in Shanghai. It all fascinated me: the history, modern architecture, and its reputation as a respected financial centre. I feel like I have just scratched the surface of what East Asia has to offer for my future
